Head of the Acoustic Research laboratory Institute years: 1949-1968 1913 Born on 30 January in Saint-Petersburg. 1930 Finished high school and entered Leningrad State Conservatory. 1934 Enrolled in the Department of Physics of Leningrad State University. 1939 Researcher at Physical-Technical Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences of the USSR. 1941 During the war, was evacuated to Kazan. 1949 Upon suggestion of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR was sent to the Institute. Assumed a position of a head of the Laboratory for Acoustic Research of the Experimental Department. 1958 Married M.R. Shtilmark, a translator. 1968 No data after 8 November 1968. Awards and honours Order of the Red Banner. Order of the Badge of Honour. USSR State Prize (1967)
